Woodshedding ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. You may optionally add a profile photo, which is stored with your account.
Practice Data
We collect practice session data including duration, practice type (e.g., Scales, Songs, Jamming), and session timestamps to track your progress and provide statistics.
Audio Recordings
Audio recordings you create within the app are stored locally on your device only. We do not upload, access, or process your audio recordings on our servers.
Payment Information
If you subscribe to premium features, payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details.
Analytics Data
With your consent, we may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to help us improve the app. You can opt out of analytics in the app settings.
2. How We Store Your Data
Free Users
Your practice data and account information are stored locally on your device.
Premium Users
Your practice data is synced securely to our cloud servers (Firebase Firestore) to enable access across multiple devices. All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS encryption.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Track your practice statistics and progress
- Sync your data across devices (premium users only)
- Send you technical notices and support messages
- Respond to your comments and questions
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the app:
- Firebase Authentication — to securely manage your account login
- Firebase Firestore — to sync practice data for premium users
- Firebase Analytics — to collect anonymous usage statistics (with your consent)
These services are provided by Google and operate under Google's Privacy Policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We only share information in the following circumstances:
- With service providers (Firebase/Google) who assist in operating our app
- If required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety
- With your explicit consent
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and secure authentication practices. Audio recordings remain stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

9. Device Permissions
Woodshedding requests microphone access to enable audio recording features. This permission is only used when you actively choose to record audio. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
10. Children's Privacy
Woodshedding is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the app or by email. Your continued use of the app after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
